MBBS Admission Process

Admissions to the MBBS program at SRMS IMS are conducted strictly based on merit through state government counseling, based on scores secured in the NEET-UG (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test). All seats are allotted only through the official counselling procedure.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS

1. Nationality

The following categories of candidates are eligible for NEET-UG:

• Indian Nationals

• Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
• Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)

2. Age Limit

• Minimum age: 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year.
• Upper age limit: 25 years on the date of the exam.

3. Educational Qualification

• Must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology & English individually.

Program Duration

• Total duration: 3 years (36 months)
• Divided into 6 semesters
• Followed by a 1-year compulsory Senior Residency at SRMS IMS

Eligibility Criteria for MD/MS

1. As per PG-NEET Rules

Candidates must qualify for the PG-National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (PG-NEET).

2. Educational Qualification

• Must hold an MBBS Degree or a Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognised under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
• Must have permanent or provisional registration with MCI/State Medical Council.
• Must have completed a one-year internship or be likely to complete it on or before 31 March of the admission year.

For Foreign Medical Graduates (FMG):

• Must qualify for the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) conducted by NBE.
• Must have MCI/SMC registration.
• Must have completed or be likely to complete their internship by 31 March.
• An FMGE Pass Certificate from NBE is mandatory during verification.
